Estimates, not engineering

Fence Run Estimator is an estimating aid. It turns the measurements, choices and prices you enter into an estimate of fence materials and cost. It is not engineering, structural, legal or code-compliance advice, and it is not a design or a plan for what you build.

Results depend on your inputs. A wrong measurement, the wrong unit or an out-of-date price carries straight through to the estimate, so check the numbers before you order materials or send a bid.

Where the tool picks or suggests a size, a spacing or a quantity, or shows a note about something to check, it does that to produce a count and a price. It does not check that what you build is safe or meets code, and the absence of a note does not mean that it is.

Any prices the tool starts you with are estimates, not quotes or offers. Your supplier's prices will differ, so enter and check your own.

Before you build, you are responsible for checking local codes, permits, property lines, buried utilities and site conditions. Talk to your local building department or a licensed land surveyor before you start, and follow their advice where it differs from the estimate.

Something that is built wrong can fail and hurt people. The estimate is a starting point for your own judgment on the job, not a replacement for it.
