Fence layout in, materials list and cost estimate out.
Enter your dimensions and get the takeoff list: posts, pickets, rails, concrete, fasteners, gates and gate hardware, counted before waste and with it. The cost estimate runs on a price book you edit. All of that is free. Pro adds a PDF bid sheet, a share link and more saved projects.
By buying, you agree to the terms and the refund policy.
The estimator is free to use. No account, no payment.
One-time payment for 1 year of Pro. 30-day refund, no questions asked.
What it counts
You know how to build a fence. The counting is the tedious part, so the tool does it: posts, pickets, rails, concrete, fasteners, gates and gate hardware. (Gate hardware is the line people forget. Here it's on the list.)
Waste factors are included. A bare count looks tidy on paper and runs short on the job, and a short order means another trip to the yard.
The cost estimate comes from a price book you edit. Enter what you pay, change it when your supplier changes it, and the estimate runs on your prices. The estimate and the price book are both free.
It's built for contractors working up a bid and serious DIYers buying for their own fence.
How it works
-
Enter your dimensions
Type in the dimensions of your fence layout, straight off your tape.
-
Get the takeoff
Posts, pickets, rails, concrete, fasteners, gates and gate hardware, counted with waste factors and priced from your price book.
-
Take it to the yard
The free takeoff list is enough to take to the counter. Check it against what your yard stocks and charges, then order. If you want a PDF bid sheet, that's the Pro option.

Questions
How close is the estimate?
It's a starting point, not a final order. The tool does the counting from the dimensions and prices you give it. Your yard has its own stock and its own prices. Check the list against your local yard before you order.
Pressure-treated or cedar: which does it price?
Whichever you use, at the price you enter. The price book is editable, so you put in what you pay for your lumber and the cost estimate runs on that. Which lumber you build with is your call.
Where do the prices in the price book come from?
The price book opens with starting prices. Each one is labeled as an estimate and shows its source and date. Where there's no sourced price, the line is left blank and you enter your own. Every price is yours to edit. Check them against your local yard before you order or bid.
What is free and what is Pro?
Free is the estimator itself: quantities before waste and with waste (so you know what to order), the takeoff list on screen, a cost estimate from a price book you edit, the unit toggle (metric or imperial) and 1 saved project. No account, and it runs in your browser. Pro is everything in Free plus a PDF bid sheet in the units you chose, a share link that carries only the fence specs, the waste factors and your unit setting (no prices, no notes, no license key) and more saved projects, up to 50. Pro costs $39, paid once, with no subscription, and the license is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase on up to 5 devices or browsers at a time. The license key comes by email, and there's still no account.
Is this a subscription, and how long does the license last?
No. Pro costs $39, paid once. Nothing renews or charges again, and there's nothing to cancel. The key is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. In that year it can be active on up to 5 devices or browsers at a time, and each browser on each device counts as one, so Chrome and Safari on the same computer are two. To free a place, remove the key in the app, in the browser you no longer use. If you no longer have that device, write to hello@fieldgrade.app with your order number and we clear it for you. When the year ends, the key stops working and Pro turns off.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no account to create. Pro works from a license key, and the key comes to you by email.
How does the license key arrive?
By email, right after checkout, to the address you used to pay. If you can't find it, check your spam folder, then write to hello@fieldgrade.app.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in the web browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Nothing to install.
Metric or imperial?
Both. The estimator works in metric and imperial. It picks the default from the region in your browser's language settings, and a visible unit toggle lets you switch.
Can I use it for my customers' jobs?
Yes. The license covers your own personal or business work, including estimates and bids for your customers. One key is for one person, so don't share, resell or redistribute it or the tool.
Is this engineering or code advice?
No. It's an estimating aid. Check local codes, property lines, permits and site conditions, and talk to your local building department or a licensed land surveyor before you build.
What do you collect about me?
Your checkout email and order details, to send and check your key. We set no cookies and run no ad trackers. We log anonymous page events on our own server. Clicking Buy opens Lemon Squeezy's checkout, which takes payment, so we never get card numbers. The privacy page lists everything.
How does the 30-day refund work?
By email, no questions asked. Write to hello@fieldgrade.app within 30 days, from the address you used at checkout, and add your order number if it's handy. The money goes back to your original payment method through Lemon Squeezy, and the license key stops working.
